Overview

Bring your passion for communicating sophisticated software capabilities to a broad and diverse audience. The Utility Network team is looking for an experienced, creative, and hard-working writer to develop engaging and approachable content to educate the utilities community through reference help, blog articles, videos, guides, and tutorials about utility network capabilities and workflows. In this role as a product engineering writer, you will work closely with teams across Esri to communicate and demonstrate best practices about the capabilities of the utility network, web mapping, data visualization, and utility network workflows. We are looking for an individual who has strong planning, problem-solving and analytical skills. One who can translate complex ideas into clear and compelling messages within established deadlines is well-suited for this role.

Esri has a Relocation Assistance Program and can provide support with relocating to the Redlands, CA area for this position.

Responsibilities



  • Write reference help documentation in our content management system about ArcGIS Utility Network, Esri's advanced network data model and comprehensive framework for managing utility networks such as electric, gas, water, stormwater, wastewater, as well as telecommunication networks
  • Create and maintain blog articles, videos, guides, and tutorials that provide guidance, best practices, and applied workflows for utilities and telecommunications
  • Collaborate with development, product marketing, product management, marketing, sales, and other teams to provide learning resources and to promote ArcGIS Utility Network


Requirements



  • 2+ years of professional writing experience related to utilities or telecommunications; ideally a blended background including technical and creative writing
  • Exposure to DITA-based content management systems to create and publish documents
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Passion for innovative data visualizations and storytelling
  • Enthusiasm for creating workflows, demos and giving presentations
  • Ability to translate complex concepts into clear, concise, compelling content
  • Effective time management and organizational skills; work proactively and volunteer assistance without being asked and under tight turnaround
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in an agile environment with a fluid mix of collaborative and independent work
  • Bachelor's in GIS, cartography, computer science, English, or related field
  • Portfolio Submission: Writing samples of your recent work

$74,880 $124,800 USD
