The ideal candidate is someone who has technical experience leveraging data and technology to optimize commercial or political operations. The Application Developer is primarily responsible for developing and maintaining robust data science applications.

Our Team

The Data Science Rapid Application Development team works with external clients to build tech-forward data science and machine learning applications responsibly. We make use of cloud-native data science technologies to solve the unique problems of our clients, building stable, documentable solutions.

What You Will Do

  • Build and support colleagues in developing modern, unit-tested front-end web applications and APIs using JavaScript and Python.
  • Utilize third-party libraries to build interactive analytics applications using charts, maps, tables, forms, and other web elements.
  • Deploy user-friendly interactive GUIs to simplify interactions with complex data science backends.
  • Interact with SQL and non-SQL backends directly through programmatic means.
  • Design effective CI/CD pipelines for deploying containerized applications in a variety of internal and client-side environments.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Experience writing JS, Python, R, bash or similar language(s).
  • Experience in container technology (docker, k8s), and/or Linux
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics, econometrics, operations research, software engineering, artificial intelligence OR a BA/BS in another field with 2+ years' experience in web development and/or data analytics.
  • Experience with ReactJS, d3.js, plotly, seaborn, ggplot, or similar library

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience identifying and communicating actionable insights using data
  • Experience with infrastructure as code technologies such as Terraform
  • Experience with automated data pipelines for data collection or standardization
  • Familiarity with AWS/EKS or similar cloud-based platform, Linux, git, containers, and command line basics
  • Familiarity with d3.js, plotly, seaborn, ggplot, or similar library
  • Experience in machine learning or artificial intelligence with caret, scikit-learn, Pytorch, TensorFlow, or similar framework
