Position Title: Human Resources Director
Location: Green River, Wyoming
GENERAL SUMMARY / MAJOR FUNCTION:
Maintain and improve a robust Human Resources department and comprehensive HR systems, processes, policies and procedures for team members and managers. Partner with leaders and teams to fulfill business objectives and drive a positive & productive culture with a focus on respect for people, continuous improvement, and customer focus, build an environment of trust and accountability, and deliver outstanding HR leadership. The Human Resource Director must understand key business metrics and how they relate to the day-to-day operations of the facility and priorities of its employees.
Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
Provide strategic direction and leadership on Human Resources
* Develop HR strategy in collaboration with the General Manager
* Act as a coach and confidant to the General Manager and other members of the Executive and Leadership Teams, as needed
* Participate as a key member of the Green River Leadership Team
* Provide coaching and leadership in driving change
* Provide hands-on leadership, oversight, and direction to the Human Resource Team to meet strategic business and department goals
* Implement employee relations strategies designed to create an environment that drives engagement.
* Develop and implement Human Resource policies and procedures.
* Align HR practices with strategic business initiatives
* Stay current on the goals, capabilities, development priorities and needs of the business
Ensure compliance with all applicable national, state and local employment laws, labor laws, and corporate HR policies, procedures and requirements
Provide leadership and direction on employee relations strategy,
* In collaboration with the General Manager facilitate the annual salary budget process for the site
* Oversee adjustments to compensation levels, salary planning and bonus programs
* Review and approve offers for employment
* Support succession planning activities
* Support and coach leadership in employee development processes and training
o Develop, maintain and improve a robust Management and Employee Training Program and assist the HR Department in implementing it.
o Develop and assist the HR Department in implementing a Performance Management Process
* Review organizational charts updates
Provide leadership and direction on labor relations strategy and application of the Collective Bargaining Agreement
* Support contract negotiations, including contingency planning, and provide leadership during negotiations
* Support members of the Human Resources Team in providing advice and guidance to managers on labor relations matters.
* Support members of the Human Resources Team in Managing and resolving employee-management disputes and grievances.
* Participate with the Human Resource Manager-Labor Relations in regularly scheduled Union-Management meetings.
Lead Organizational Development
Support the structure, validation and application of the Compensation System under the leadership of Human Resource Manager-Employee Relations
Approve and administer the budget for the HR department
Understand and participate in the conduct of the Business
Lead Organizational Development and Continuous Improvement Efforts
Education, Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent required MS or MBA a plus
Demonstrated cultural change agent
Minimum of seven years Human Resource experience
Minimum of three years' experience managing a team of HR professionals
Minimum of five years Labor Relations experience
Demonstrated HR experience in a manufacturing or similar environment required (rapid and complex). Mine experience preferred
Strong coaching and influence skills and leadership presence
Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs.
Experience with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) a plus
Demonstrated outstanding interpersonal skills and skills in interacting with all departments in a spirit of teamwork to meet company goals
Demonstrated good judgement
Excellent communication (verbal, listening and written) and organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong analytical skills
Proven working knowledge of basic employment laws.
Proven experience resolving employee relations issues.
Comfortable with a high-volume workload and not afraid to be "boots on the ground."
Strong customer orientation with internal customers
Demonstrated experience and comfort in working in a fast-paced environment entailing constant change and shifting priorities
High level of self-motivation and excellence orientation.
