Position Summary:

In this role you will support the Walmart and Sam's Club sales finance team and partner with the Sales organization to proactively manage a critical part of our portfolio. You will provide financial analysis and fiduciary support in various areas including customer level negotiations, In Market Planning/Quarterly Business Reviews, and mid-year gap closing opportunities. You will also partner closely with other key cross-functional partners, including shopper marketing, category insights, and supply chain to help deliver on the financial targets of our business.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

  • Provide overall support for financial analysis of trade promotions, working with Sales Teams to ensure they are optimizing the promotional calendar while also meetings revenue and profit objectives
  • Support customer deductions management process, inclusive of reporting and analysis
  • Conduct comprehensive analyses to support critical business decisions. Support financial analysis for determining net present value (NPV), return on investment (ROI), internal rate of return (IRR) and profit loss (P&L).
  • Review new business proposals, identify issues, risk and opportunities. Execute financial due diligence and explain ramifications of findings and recommendations for project progress
  • Communicate complex financial information and concepts to both financial and business leaders to support and influence decision making

Summary of Experience

  • Bachelor degree required. Concentration in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent preferred.
  • 3+ years of financial analysis experience including budgeting, forecasting, planning, and financial reporting preferred.
  • Consumer goods company/industry desired, not required.
  • Advanced Excel, experience with OBIEE, Hyperion, or SAP (or other ERP System) preferred.
  • Experience demonstrating financial modeling skills (2+ years).
  • Experience presenting financial analysis and recommendations to a business unit leader (2+ years).
    • Making recommendations to and influencing decision makers 5 years
    • Project management experience

Basic Qualifications

  • Strong communicator in both formal and informal settings
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical problem-solving
  • Financial modeling skills
  • Business partnership and ability to communicate clearly to non-finance audiences
  • Superior execution and time management skills in a changing environment and ability to work in a fast-paced environment and quickly pull information
  • Curious self-starter, shows initiative, and quickly learns the specifics of the business
  • Understanding of P&L concepts and management accounting principles
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Strong data management skills, Hyperion, OBIEE or comparable system experience
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
