Overview

The Quality Manager, USA will provide OTC drug and cosmetic quality assurance and compliance support for the US market. Key responsibilities include implementing, executing, and improving, technical quality support for the business. This includes direct support for DC's, co-packers, carriers, customers, consumers, internal operations, and 3PM/PC manufacturing support. The Quality Manager, USA is responsible for protecting brand integrity, supporting product availability (for promotions, launches, and in-line products), for Quality Management System (QMS) compliance, on-shelf assessments, and incident management.

Responsibilities:

  • Leadership:
    • Lead Team of two direct reports
    • Build Quality talent through coaching and development
    • Demonstrate the organizational values: Care, Trust, Courage and Simplicity.
    • Quality management review and metrics reporting for USA.
  • Project Management
    • Identify, manage, and escalate project milestones to achieve success within realistic timelines
    • Track, manage, own, and resolve all project conflicts to achieve high internal satisfaction for the period of the project and present during Project Meetings, regarding Quality topics
    • Escalate, challenge, review, and work to address any project changes that challenge the path to
    • success.
    • Ensure cross functional partners are on track with deadlines by proactively communicating
  • Supplier Management: Value added service and Logistics service providers (for finished goods, which are already released by supply units):
    • Phase-in: Supplier assessment or release audit
    • Serial production: VAS batch releases and documentation, FFPR, Complaint investigation and management
    • DC and Carrier quality management
    • Supplier development: re-audits, trouble shooting, initiate and ensure CAPA (Correction and Preventative Action)
  • Customer and Consumer Complaints
    • Coordinate Consumer/Customer complaint Investigation requests to the supply units. Monitor and follow-up on root cause analysis and CAPA.
    • Perform trend analysis and prepare trending reports to focus action and drive complaint reduction.
    • Support Customer and Consumer complaints tracking, reporting, CAPA, and PPM trend reduction
  • QMS:
    • Implement and manage local QMS manual & SOPs in all assigned CUs; support stakeholder needs
    • Trainings, implementation monitoring & internal audits; track development of global QMS
    • Ensure alignment of local processes and procedures to Beiersdorf and regulatory standards
  • Advertising Items:
    • implement global quality standards, develop and manage local process; stakeholder management in all CUs
  • On-shelf Quality:
    • Support global requirements for execution and evaluation of store checks
    • Ensure CAPA with causing supply units for MU specific defects; escalate issues to MU and QA leadership
    • Ensure timely data entry to global template till the end of each month
    • Discuss MU-specific report with local stakeholders and derive actions in case required
  • Quality Management Review:
    • Implement Quality KPI monitoring and escalation via SOP
    • Build Customer and Consumer complaints tracking, reporting, CAPA,
    • Complaint root cause investigation and PPM trend reduction
  • Service:
    • Support customer product availability needs with thorough and expeditious follow through of quality support to resolve service risks
    • Support to resolve service risks
    • Establish strong relationships with peers and work cross-functionally with all local and international departments including planning, purchasing, new products team, customer service, finance, sales,
    • packaging, and marketing counterparts.
    • Take the initiative to identify, lead, and establish continuous improvement practices that improve the performance of the Quality Management processes.

Qualifications

Education: University degree in technical discipline. Biology, Engineering, Microbiology, or Chemistry preferred.

Experience: 7+ years of related experience, Working knowledge of cGMP and overall FDA requirements and guidelines for OTC and Cosmetic products

Travel: 10% travel expected
