Key Accountabilities:

Applies basic skills to insure that all finished goods being shipped and received meet quality and food safety requirements. Maintains all necessary shipping records, insures all product quality issues identified on the shift are immediately placed on hold physically and in SAP WM system.

Responsibilities:



  • Insure all finished goods with potential quality concerns are placed on hold.
  • Ability to keep up with fast paced environment, place palletized product in freezer racking safely, and troubleshoot palletizer as necessary.
  • Prepare necessary shipping documents for all production received into shipping on a daily basis.
  • Be capable of completing all outbound and inbound orders properly, completing all associated computer and paperwork associated with the load. Insure customer orders have accurate product and quantities.
  • Minimize detention fees by loading trucks as they arrive for their appointments.
  • Inspect all trailers upon arrival and all pallets of finished goods prior to loading.
  • Inspection of storage facilities and materials in order to maintain food safety and quality.
  • Perform cycle counts of inventory as needed and requested
  • Observe and follow first in/first out (FIFO) of all finished goods, monitor for damages and inventory discrepancies.
  • Proper communication with coworkers and all other department(s) (i.e. Sanitation, Maintenance, or Quality Assurance) as needed, to include daily recaps within the shipping department. All positions are part of a team and must communicate and work together to insure a safe and efficient work flow.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and organized work area.
  • Know, understand, and follow safe operating procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Actively participate with the team, through problem solving, planning, and team decision-making with individual accountability.
  • Perform training of new shipping employees and assist in other training activities which support the shipping/receiving department.
  • Flexibility in job assignments as designated by a supervisor and/or manager.
  • Knows, understands and follows standard forklift operating and safety procedures.
  • Ability to learn how to operate the yard jockey truck to move trailers as needed,
  • Perform all other duties as required or assigned.



Qualifications:



  • Strong communication skills, good written and verbal communication skills within the facility and with external contacts, in English.
  • Ability to read and write in English, and use of basic math and time keeping.
  • Computer literate in Excel and Microsoft Outlook. Able to access, enter, and retrieve data


using a computer terminal and retrieve information from production schedules.



  • Able to work independently with little supervision and make logistical decisions


  • High school diploma, GED and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Stand up forklift experience
  • 2-3 years previous work history in a food manufacturing facility/light industrial environment preferred
