Job Description

Represents Threat Systems in a wide variety of areas within the test range environment. Performs and assists with test preparation, set-up, and execution in support of a variety of training and testing programs. Accesses and uses the YPG scheduling system to assist with projecting personnel and equipment requirements. Represents the Test Officer to external customers and support organizations. Demonstrates exceptional customer service skills in person, on the telephone, and in written correspondence (such as e-mail). Performs assignments that are not completely standardized, selects or adapts standard procedures using applicable precedents, receives initial instructions and performs recurring work independently. Provides daily and as-needed feedback to Test Officers with useful information for decision-making. Works with Test Officers to implement requirements for placement and operation of target vehicles and related assets. Maintains control of target array and ensures target operations are executed in accordance with test plan and operational procedures and instructions. Operates various types of both foreign and domestic tactical wheeled and track target vehicles often in a field or tactical setting with closed hatches, in confined spaces and during long periods for the purpose of test and evaluation in support of testing. Provides guidance and mentorship to co-workers. Perform other duties as required to complete the assigned mission. This position is covered under the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Qualifications

Pay Rate:$29.35

Education/Licenses/Certifications/Experience Requirements:

*Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
*Must have an Associate's degree, military technical schooling, or 5 years of experience in a field related to material testing.
*Must possess a valid Class B or higher Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
*Must have experience with test documentation and/or experience with technical writing and basic shop math.
*Must have 5 years hands on experience with various types of heavy tactical wheeled and/or tracked vehicles.
*Must have 5 years of experience providing test support services within military test ranges.

Job Skills Requirements:

*Must be competent with Microsoft Office - including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
*Must be able to provide guidance and direction to subordinate employees when necessary.
*Must have interest in learning and developing in the field of test and evaluation of military equipment and systems.
*Must be able to comfortably and safely enter, operate, and exit foreign target vehicles including T-72, BMPs, MTLB, 2S3 and MAZ 543 chassis.

Physical Requirements:

*Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical and periodic retests.
*Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for work tasks assigned.
*Must be capable of working in extreme weather conditions including summer temperatures peaking around 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
*Must meet the physical requirements necessary to perform operations outlined, performed, and stated in the SOPs for Aviation and TRAX.
*Must be able to work long and varied hours.
*Must be capable of frequent bending, squatting, crouching, kneeling, standing, climbing, and stooping, sometimes for long periods.
*Must be able to ascend and descend equipment, including large vehicles as high as 8-10 feet.
*Must be able to visually distinguish colors.
*Must be capable of lifting 75 lbs. unassisted.

*Must be able to work in a team setting, fostering teamwork, and maintaining a professional relationship with all team members and coworkers, in and outside of your immediate work area.
*Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed, sometimes on short notice, to support test missions.
*Must have dependable transportation and a dependable means of communication.

Additional Desirable Qualifications:

*Knowledge of military systems, accounting procedures, and military logistics.
*Possess a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License (CDL), with combination, air brake, and HAZ-MAT endorsements.
*Have experience, and be licensed on foreign threat target vehicles.
*Possess the ability to communicate with customers, coworkers, support personnel, military, government, management, and senior officials in a professional, positive, and customer-focused manner.
*Able to multi-task, be highly organized, and possess a willingness to adapt to changing situations in a fast paced work environment.
*Mechanically inclined.

Terms of Employment & Eligibility Requirements:

*Must be a U.S. Citizen.
*Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to employment and maintain security clearance for the duration of employment.
*Must be a current TRAX employee or affiliate subcontractor for internal postings.
