Registered Nurse, Oncology Infusion Center Position Highlights:
- Position: Registered Nurse
- Location: Northwest Community Hospital, Arlington Heights, IL.
- Full Time: 40 hours/week
- Hours: Monday-Friday (8a-4:30p)
What you will do: Reporting to a Clinical Director or other designated manager, the Staff Nurse assumes responsibility for the complete nursing process in the delivery of patient care, which includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient outcomes from a patient's admission through discharge. Revises plans of care as indicated. These activities are accomplished through a multidisciplinary team approach as appropriate for his/her specialty of practice. This job description was developed in accordance with the Illinois Nurse Practice Act and the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice.
- Utilizes the nursing process to provide coordinated patient care in order to achieve desired outcomes as an active member of a multidisciplinary team.
- Coordinates and provides holistic care based on the patient's individual needs in concert with the patient's family and/or significant other.
- Supports and interprets hospital and nursing department philosophies, objectives, policies, and procedures and applies them to all aspects of patient care. Maintains practice standards as established by hospital and regulatory bodies.
- Delegates patient care activities as appropriate.
- Participates in quality measurement and improvement activities.
- Maintains physician relationships that demonstrate mutual respect, trust, and open dialogue for the provision of quality patient care.
- Maintains peer relationships that demonstrate support, collaboration, and goal-directed interaction.
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to assess, treat, and provide care appropriate to the age(s) of the patients served on his or her assigned unit. Maintains clinical competencies as established by areas of practice.
- Demonstrates professional attitude in nursing through dress, conduct, educational growth, provision of patient care, and by positively affirming nursing as a valued career.
- Utilizes supplies and equipment in the provision of patient care in a manner, which assures quality, cost effective patient care.
- Maintains relationships with other departments' staffs in order to provide optimal patient care through achieving respect and positive teamwork.
- Attends all mandatory inservice education programs as required by the area of service.
- Adheres to departmental and hospital safety standards in order to maintain a clean, safe patient care and working environment.
- Adheres to the hospital's guest relations policy.
What you will need:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree Nursing Required
- License: Professional licensure in the State of Illinois
- Certification: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association (AHA) Required, Basic Life Support (BLS) - National CPR Foundation (NCPRF) Required, Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse (CWON) - Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNCB) Preferred, Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN) - Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNCB) Preferred
- Experience: 1 Year ICU or ER experience, preferred, 1 Year radiology nursing experience, preferred, 1 Year Wound/ostomy experience, preferred, Successful completion of Wound Ostomy Associate class, preferred.
