ENGIE Insight Services, Inc. (dba ENGIE Impact)

User Experience (UX) Designer in Spokane, Washington with Telecommute Option

Duties: Under the supervision of a Senior Product Manager, improve the usability, ease of use, and pleasure customers derive from using ENGIE Impact's software products. Leverage research captured from a user-centered design process to create wireframe representations of how applications will appear on screens and software design prototypes that provide business value and an optimal experience for ENGIE Impact's customers. Collaborate with the product management team and provide the software engineering team with the resources they need to turn software prototypes into fully functioning products. Specific duties include:




  • Support a user-centered research-and-design process for software user experiences that incorporates user research, personas, context scenarios, rapid prototyping, and user testing where appropriate.
  • Work closely with users, product management, software engineering team, marketing and the software team to make sure the best possible user experience is delivered to product users.
  • Verbally and graphically communicate designs, decisions and reasoning with clarity, data, and confidence.
  • Articulate design intentions and rationale to the product and engineering teams.
  • Craft UI (User Interface) elements with the Design System for development teams, such as functional specifications and descriptions of component behavior.
  • Design user journeys (userflow, wireframes, models, etc.) in collaboration with product managers and engineering teams.
  • Develop and promote UI design guidelines for ENGIE's software applications according to the best standards and practices.
  • Perform other duties as directed.



This position is located at ENGIE Impact's Spokane, Washington headquarters, with the option to telecommute from anywhere in the United States. Domestic travel may be required up to 5 days per year.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree or the foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Applications, or a closely related field and 2 years of experience as a UX Designer, UI Designer, Software Engineer, Technology Associate, or in a similar occupation closely related to UX/UI design. Experience to include:




  • 2 years designing B2B (Business-to-Business) SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) products.
  • 2 years working with wireframing/prototyping tools.
  • 2 years working with design tools, including Figma, Sketch, Adobe Suite, and Invision.
  • 2 years conducting technical conversations with software developers, including conversations about JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • 2 years designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise applications.
  • 2 years defining and articulating design vision to internal stakeholders using multiple approaches, including analytics and user research, to drive decisions and develop product iterations.



All education, experience, and training may be gained concurrently. Applicants must be U.S. workers (includes U.S. citizens, permanent residents, foreign nationals granted temporary residence under one of the 1986 legalization programs, refugees, and asylees). Salary range: $138,200-$146,000 per year for 40+ hours of work. This position is eligible for our comprehensive and competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance.
