Overview

Corporate Banking is the division consisting of many domain and sub-domains like Trade management, Investor space, Trust and Agency of securities, client positions management, custodian business, Cash/wire payments (Both internal and external via Swift, crest, Mint etc.), Channels space, messaging billing and Trade Finance and Lending area. Corporate Banking applications service the needs of business areas spread across all APAC, EMEA, and US regions, in addition to the Production Support Engineering team spread globally. You will be operating within Production services team of cash management domain which is a subdivision of the Corporate Bank as a Production Support Engineer within the production support team. In this role, you will be accountable to drive a culture of proactive continual improvement into the Production environment through application, user request support, troubleshooting and resolving the errors in production environment, automation of manual work, as well as monitoring improvements and platform hygiene.

What You'll Do

  • Managing a set of payment orchestration applications. Understand SLAs, SLOs and OLAs to ensure service levels match client expectations and manage error budget. Work with CIO team to onboard new applications and microservices to production in adherence to supportability, observability, and stability
  • Proven ability to simplify complex systems and identify potential failure scenarios. Experience in automation and instrumentation. Identify risks and issues related to the area and define appropriate automated solutions
  • Responsible for resolution of incidents and problems within the team. Ensure that the right problem-solving techniques and processes are applied by the team and vendor partners. Build and deploy automation around causation and correlation of events in our infrastructure
  • Provide strict production gatekeeper function by reviewing proposed solutions ensuring proper standards are adhered to. Advocate for and implement reliable design patterns (circuit breakers, graceful degradation, gameday etc.)
  • Understand thoroughly the end-to-end application support process and escalation procedures and be fully conversant with all support tools used to provide effective support in the relevant area (e.g. service operations). Maintain an end-to-end view of the application and infrastructure landscape
  • Provide input and contribute to Production Management related audits. Responsible to update Runbooks and KEDB (Known Error DataBase) when required. Participate in all BCP (Business Continuity Planning) and component failure tests based on the run books. Drive and ensure compliance to knowledge management across the supported applications. Devise non-functional requirements (NFR) with thorough due diligence. Maintain NFR, review requirements and specifications, assist in defining and creating test conditions

Skills You'll Need

  • Service Operations experience within a global operations context. Proven experience in IT in large corporate environments, specifically in controlled production environments in Financial Services Technology, FinTech or a client-facing function; global transaction banking/corporate and investment banking experience is a plus
  • Experience of end-to-end Level 2 management and good overview of Production/Operations Management overall. Experience of supporting complex application and infrastructure domains
  • Broad ITIL / best practice service context within a real time distributed environment
  • Proven experience with monitoring tools like Geneos and Splunk is required. Good understanding of SQL Server or Oracle databases, Linux OS, Java and RedHat OpenShift platform
  • Working knowledge of incident tracking tools (e.g. ServiceNow etc.)

Skills That Will Help You Excel

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Python and Ansible is preferred
  • Experience with Build and Configuration management toolset (e.g., GIT, BitBucket, Maven, TeamCity, Docker) preferred

Expectations

It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the Cary, NC office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in Cary, NC is $85,000 to $120,750. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
