The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Senior Director, Clinical & Administrative Operations and working closely with the College of Dental Medicine Business Office and the 61st Street Service Corporation, the incumbent will be responsible for overall administration of a College of Dental Medicine Faculty Practice. The faculty practice manager will administer the fiscal affairs, personnel management and daily operations in accordance with university policy and procedures and applicable regulatory guidelines.
Responsibilities
The Faculty Practice Manager will be responsible for, but not limited to:
Human Resources and Personnel Management
- Direct, trains and supervises support staff.
- Ensures that office is staffed appropriately.
- Assist in recruitment, hiring, orientation, development and performance management.
- Schedule dental assistants, dental hygienists and reception personnel.
- Oversee and process payroll and employee leave records.
Office Operations
- Oversees daily operations and delegates authority to assigned staff as appropriate.
- Back up operational functions as needed.
- Responsible for expediting patient flow through the practice and ensure that patients are seen in a timely manner.
- Addresses patient concerns.
- Assures overall compliance of all internal and external regulatory requirements including infection control and environmental safety.
- Makes studies of adequacy and effectiveness of general services.
Financial and Business Affairs
- Prepares and monitors budget, operation and statistical reports.
- Monitors practice productivity, tracks collections and bank deposit, tracks and works to minimize patient accounts receivables and makes recommendations.
- Monitors requisitioning of supplies, materials and equipment, tracks vendor payments and accounts payable.
- Oversee facility management.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and training, plus a minimum of four years of related experience in health care faculty practice.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual (English & Spanish)
- Dental Practice experience
- Dental software
- Supervisory, billing and collection experience.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
- Must be highly organized and motivated, excellent interpersonal and communication skills needed.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
