Description and Requirements Job Title Solar Technician Who we are In Solar operations and maintenance, we are responsible for managing our Solar farms and ensuring optimum performance for the benefit of the multiple households that rely on the sustainable energy we produce. Our Challenges This position will involve work at solar PV power plants maintaining, testing, and troubleshooting AC and DC circuits ranging from medium voltage 34.5kV to 12VDC. The equipment that will need to be maintained includes station service electrical equipment such as motors and motor controls, electrical switchgear, transformers, inverters, solar PV panels, panel tracking mechanisms, electrical protective devices, main and auxiliary generators, lighting, power supplies, HVAC systems security systems and battery support systems. This position will be responsible for troubleshooting and overhauling such equipment as well as preventative and predictive maintenance activities for the afore mentioned equipment. Our Team The Estonian team is composed of 5 people in total. What You'll Do at Enel North America Testing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and replacing solar PV power plant related electrical equipment. Gaining technical information from electrical schematics, vendor information, and applicable codes. Perform current and voltage readings as necessary. Understand reliability-based maintenance philosophies and work towards certifications such as CMRT/CMRP. Perform plant related preventative, reactive, and predictive maintenance scheduled by the Site Manager and/or Lead Technician. Ability to operate independently, safely, and efficiently to maximize power generation and availability. Have after-hours availability be dispatched to site requiring immediate attention. Who You Are? Electrical experience preferred. Ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines. Strong attention to detail. Ability to use electrical test equipment such as, Digital Multimeters, Amp Clamps, and Insulation Testers. Strong knowledge in electrical theory and troubleshooting techniques Willingness to work night shift, overtime and on-call including weekends and holidays when required. Working knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft office suite. Working knowledge of Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) and the ability to isolate and lock out mechanical and simple electrical equipment. The use of PPE is required and must be consistently used in accordance with EGPNA, NFPA, or OSHA guidelines. Travel up to 10% for training and site support. Ability to rent a vehicle Ability to fly commercially. Verbal and Written communication skills required. Have safe and reliable transportation to and from Job site. Must reside within 1 hour drive of assigned Plant location. Able to perform Job Safety Analysis and Safety Observations. Able to safely lift 50 lbs., use unpowered and powered hand tools and work outside in hot, cold and inclement weather. The use of PPE is required and must be consistently used in accordance with EGPNA, NFPA, or OSHA guidelines. A valid driver's license operable in all 50 states and a clean driving record. A clean driving recordsmeans: In the last 3 years, no driving-related suspension, revocation or cancellation, no disqualifying offenses, no more than 2 moving violations andno reckless driving incidents. In the last 5 years, no major driving offenses including DUI/DWI, refusal to test, leaving the scene, driving a commercial vehicle without a CDL, or at-fault fatal accident. What You've Accomplished 0-2 years of related experience required. Attended Technical School preferred, High School degree or equivalent required.
