We are currently seeking to add aSenior Fisheries Biologist to our growing Natural Resources team in Seattle or Issaquah, Washington. $120,000 to $150,000 annually, in office full-time, with benefits, and flexibility for a hybrid schedule. This position will serve as a senior advisor to our clients and staff by managing a variety of fish passage and stream projects, and being an integral part of our stream team. Reporting to the Natural Resources Principal, this role collaborates with Senior Project Managers, Market Sector Managers, and Client Managers. Projects encompass natural resource planning, stream surveys, NEPA/SEPA documentation, permitting, ESA compliance, fish passage, stream design and mitigation, shoreline restoration, and fish exclusion. Additionally, this position will contribute to the development of Apex's Natural Resources strategic marketing plan. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Fisheries Biology or related discipline Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in the field 5+ years of Project Manager experience demonstrating growth in responsibilities 3+ years in a supervisory role Experience developing and implementing successful client-focused marketing plans Strong verbal and written communication skills Excellent leadership abilities Experience working on a multi-disciplinary project team Valid Driver's License Desirable Qualifications Certified Fisheries Professional Completed WSDOT Fish Passage Training Experience in a client-facing role Knowledge of regulatory framework, including regulations, permitting, and compliance Experience working on local, state, and federal transportation projects PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Mentor and grow the Apex Natural Resources team Manage project scope, budget, and schedule, as well as oversee the project team from initial scoping to project closeout Develop the Natural Resources practice within Apex, targeting clients in sectors such as transportation, facilities, education, ports, and energy Identify and pursue new business opportunities by leveraging relationships with existing clients #LI-Hybrid Expected Pay Range $120,000 — $150,000 USD We believe in equality for all and celebrate the diversity and differences of our employees, customers, and communities.
