How You'll Perform the Role

Position Summary:

Function as primary purchasing agent for all raw material, operating supplies, R&M, and other miscellaneous materials as needed; generating purchase orders and receiving same in AX. Coordinate with AP or vendors, receipts, invoices, or other discrepancies so payment is made in a timely manner. Work on other purchasing or store room processes as needed. Stocking and Inventory of all spare parts.

  • Strive to perform tasks with highest possible quality and accuracy.
  • Direct people to assist in accomplishing tasks where needed, taking ownership or that process.
  • Have a can do attitude, being self-sufficient, proactive, and determined.
  • Accurately and consistently generate purchase orders as needed, receiving same.
  • Must be willing to put forth extra effort when needed to resolve problems with minimal supervision or direction.
  • Monitor and order appropriately, raw material and other necessary operating supplies to ensure proper inventory levels.
  • Maintain open communication with Corporate, employees, and vendors to resolve AP issues as necessary with minimal supervision ensuring payment is not delayed due to plant error.
  • Be familiar with or learn Maximo or other parts CMMS tracking software systems.
  • Be part of the team to incorporate CMMS into operation and support those endeavors.
  • Work with Vendors to identify replacement or lower cost products and supplies.
  • Assist in tracking and controlling R&M and Operating costs.
  • Act as Liaison with vendors for purchasing and rush or urgent order procurement.
  • Willingness to learn new tasks and take on additional assignments.

  • Successful completion of pre-employment background and drug screen.
  • Ability perform the essential functions of the job with or without accommodation.
  • The commitment to stay safe and to continue to learn and develop.
  • Satisfactorily completes training courses as determined by management.
  • Must have an eye for details, root cause, and suggest areas for improvements.
  • Should have good follow up and communication skills.
  • Must have good understanding of AP procedures, purchasing, plant supplies and parts.
  • Must be able to plan daily, weekly activities and carry out with any needed changes.
  • Must have creativity in order to envision improvements.
  • Must be able to work overtime if necessary.
