Engineer I - Systems
Overview D428 COLUMBIA Class Electrical Systems is looking for a highly motivated engineer to oversee the development and integration of internal and external cableways. The candidate will work closely with the cableways design organization to ensure platform requirements are met. Cableways and their associated hangers provide a means of routing and securing cables throughout the submarine. These cables not only provide power to components but also are part of the information highway between systems. Cableways engineers own the products from concept to 3D arrangement to detailed design. Additionally, cableways engineers support the shipyards by performing ship checks and responding to trade's problem reports. This position requires interfacing with multiple organizations such as fluid systems, structural, ventilation, and the arrangement team while developing the cableway 3D model. Interfacing with additional organization such as the shipyard trades, purchasing, planning, and NAVSEA counterparts is required through development and construction. Daily tasks and responsibilities may include:
