The Sports Medicine Department is responsible for providing medical care for student athletes. |
| Essential Job Duties |
Serve as Athletic Trainer in the Department of Athletics for assigned sport(s). Responsible for the care of student-athletes, to include prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of the injured student-athletes under the supervision of the team physician.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Assists with preparation of budget requests and managing inventory of supplies for training room operations.
- Interfaces with coaches regarding injured student-athletes.
- Follows the NATA Code of Ethics; remains current on all state and national requirements for license renewal.
- Agrees to comply with all University, ACC, and NCAA bylaws and legislation.
- Supervises student trainers.
- Collaborates with the Strength & Conditioning, Nutrition, and Sports Psychology teams to support comprehensive player health and readiness plans.
- Participates in daily medical team meetings to determine player availability and injury risk mitigation strategies.
- Contributes to data-informed decision-making through documentation and tracking of injury trends, availability metrics, and objective performance testing results.
- Performs other duties as requested by the Associate Athletics Director for Sports Medicine or the Head Football Athletic Trainer.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree required.
|
| Other Required Qualifications |
- Minimum of one year of Athletic Training experience working with Football
- Strong working knowledge of football-specific injury patterns, recovery strategies, and emergency protocols
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with high-level football coaches, strength staff, and sports performance professionals
- Computer competency
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.

| Preferred Qualifications |
- Experience working with Division 1 or Professional Football
- Previous experience with advanced return to play progressions in multidisciplinary medical models
- Additional Certifications from NASM, NSCA, or CSCCA
- Master's degree preferred.
