Description

Responsible for onboarding and training newly hired Loan Originators, as well as, performing ongoing Mortgage training. Performs other projects and duties as assigned.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:

* Responsible for facilitating and coordinating new hire training for Loan Originators and Loan Originator Assistants.

* Conduct branch visits to check on Mortgage Bankers in order to ensure their training needs are met.

* Participate in quarterly Retail meetings to stay on track with Retail Bank strategies and changes.

* Maintain effective communication and working relationships within the company (Mortgage Bankers, HR, IT, Compliance, Processing, Closing etc.)

* Coordinate classroom, online and other training initiatives for colleagues who join us through a Merger and Acquisition focusing specifically on Mortgage Banker roles.

* Schedule training events, prepare training status reports, perform tracking and reporting of training data, provide accurate and up to date instructional materials for courses, coordinate training room usage, ensure colleagues are kept abreast of training requirements, maintain the training calendar.

* Work with the Compliance Officer to assign, schedule, track and report on all compliance training.

* Work daily with the Encompass Help Desk to answer questions and provide job aids that relate to mortgage origination.

* Provide timely guidance and coaching feedback to participants to help strengthen their knowledge/skills.

* Identify training gaps and needs and works to fulfill those gaps to meet customer expectations.

* Support the Sales and Origination system for loan officers

* Ensure timely communication with all partners, clients and teammates.

* Provide support to special projects.

* Exhibit the Ameris Approach and models this for our colleagues.

* Provide excellent quality customer service.

* Maintains strong relationships, is responsive and has timely follow up.

* Supports other training duties as needed.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:

* Strong knowledge of adult learning principles.

* Exceptional verbal and non-verbal communication.

* Classroom facilitation and strong presentation skills.

* Strong planning and organizational skills.

* Strong technical skills and ability to utilize audio-visuals and A/V equipment

* Strong knowledge of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) along with database experience.

* Ability to clearly convey information and ideas through a variety of media to colleagues

* Ability to produce training materials (leader's guide, participant workbooks, visual learning aides).

* Ability to manage projects and multi-task.

* Position requires travel.

Industry and Work Experience:

* 2-4 years Mortgage or Training experience required.

* Previous experience as a Mortgage Trainer preferred.

Academic:

* High school diploma or GED required.

* Bachelor's degree preferred.
