Job Description Summary:

The Billing and Collections Analyst 2 highly motivated, detailed-oriented, results-driven individual that will support Draper's billing functions, which are critical in the execution of important national security and defense contracts. The selected candidate will play a key role in invoicing, collections, contract closeouts and maintaining accurate records. The Billing and Collections Analyst 2 should have a keen eye for detail and should be comfortable working with little supervision to meet tight deadlines. The candidate will provide value added service to our internal/external partners. This role is highly visible and requires a knowledge of Government Contracts with the ability to prioritize and plan.

Job Description:

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Independently apply principles of accounting to prepare Government and Commercial Bills (Cost Types, Time and Material, Firm Fixed Price, and Performance Based Payments)

  • Work collaboratively with team members to support Government and Commercial Customer invoice requests by established deadlines

  • Continually monitor and update customer interaction documentation in support of collections activities

  • With little to no supervision, Investigate and resolve any reconciliation issues

  • Work under tight time constraints due to departmental and contractual deadlines

  • Collaboratively work in a team-oriented environment

  • Work effectively with other departments (including Business Analysts, Contracts, General Ledger, Accounts Payables and Programs).

  • Effectively communicate to your manager regarding on-going issues and updates

  • Revaluate billing terms within contracts for appropriateness, applicability, and reasonability

  • Ad Hoc additional duties and projects as assigned

Skills/Abilities

  • ERP experience preferred ( Unanet, Oracle, IPP, WAWF, BI tools)

  • Knowledge of electronic billing procedures

  • Proficient Microsoft Suite skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Detail oriented

  • Ability to adapt to changes in workflow

  • Ability to analyze data to make informed decisions

  • Thrive in results-driven team culture

  • Familiarity with Government regulations

  • Experience in reviewing contracts

Education

Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance is required.

Experience

4-7 years of Government billing experience is required.
