Position Description

Performs routine administrative support or technical program assistance work. Works under moderate supervision with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
Performs routine purchasing of materials, supplies, and equipment for a department or section; may collect bids, place orders, and follow up for payment within state regulations and university procedures.

Major/Essential Functions


  • Obtain quotes from vendors for purchases. Route and obtain permissions for vehicle purchases. Work with fleet management in obtaining licenses and titles for new vehicle purchases.
  • Submit, pictures, and quotes to Physical Plant for self-help project requests.
  • Reserve charter buses and prepay hotel rooms for bus drivers each semester for NRM 1401 laboratory exercises taught at the TTU Junction, TX campus.
  • Reserve hotels and process purchase orders for guest speakers and visiting business professionals.
  • Collaborate with vendor services to set up new vendors in Techbuy.
  • Reimburse participant travel on a purchase order.
  • Emergency Action Coordinator for the basement of Goddard Hall.
  • Manage inventory and surplus for all NRM items.
  • Maintain and order copy paper, ink, and office supplies.
  • Reconcile Pcard for NRM.
  • Complete forms required for food purchases, federal equipment purchases, Independent Contractor forms, Sole Source purchases and Intended Use of Technology.
  • Check balances in account codes for Pcard purchases and Purchase orders.
  • Post Pcard purchases and Purchase Orders to faculty grant spreadsheets.
  • Report on building maintenance work requests to Physical Plant.
  • Coordinate new computer equipment with IT.
  • Coordinate old hard driver removal and battery removal with IT.
  • Complete Purchase Order requisitions for NRM.
  • Receive all package orders for NRM.
  • Check packing list against PO for all orders.
  • Enter receiving for all purchase orders.
  • Obtain and submit invoices for purchase orders.
  • Manage United Supermarket discount cards.
  • Manage Sam's Club Membership card.
  • Manage NRM Departmental Pcard and check out to faculty and graduate students as needed.
  • Work with Range Barn Manager, Faculty, and Grad Students on vehicle and equipment repairs.
  • Maintain warranty on items purchased with a purchase order.

Required Qualifications

Completion of high school or the equivalent. Five years office experience. Additional education may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Accurate typing skills and the ability to learn recent programs quickly. Knowledge of Microsoft programs and TTU Banner. Ability to multi-task during peak times.

Pay Statement
