The New York Interest Rate Sales desk covers a wide variety of institutional clients for interest rate products. Salespeople on the desk work closely with traders from US Treasuries, swaps, inflation and option markets. Salespeople have a broad macroeconomic understanding of the trading environment, focusing closely on the impact of economic data releases and current events on market pricing. The desk is looking to fill a role on the Fixed Income Sales Trading Desk for an analyst/associate. Willing to consider applicants who have 1-3yrs of work experience in other areas, no direct expertise required.

Responsibilities Include:



  • Back up client coverage responsibilities for a diverse range of account types; banks, insurance, asset managers and hedge funds
  • Supporting senior sales members in managing client relationships and responding to client inquiries
  • Executing trades across a variety of listed interest rate products from execution to booking
  • Liaising with research analysts, traders, and other internal constituents to deliver the best of GS to the client base


Basic Qualifications:



  • Interest in capital markets
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and think clearly under pressure
  • Desire to live in New York City
  • Ability to multi-task and work with numerous colleagues and desks across the Firm
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Desire to work hard and develop capital markets acumen in a team environment


Salary Range
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $110000-$125000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
