DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will manage the daily operations of the Lewistown Driver Licensing Center, providing strong guidance and leadership to staff. You will effectively organize work schedules, conduct comprehensive performance evaluations, and handle leave approvals, grievance assessments, and recommendations. You will oversee the administration of both non-commercial and commercial driver license (CDL) knowledge and skills testing, including pre-trip inspections and driving assessments. Additionally, you will ensure the thorough inspection of motor vehicles, checking for inspection stickers, lights, windshield wipers, and other essential mechanical components. Your responsibilities will extend to human resource management, where you will manage the hiring, placement, training, recognition, and disciplinary actions for both civil service and union-represented employees. Furthermore, you will ensure that all knowledge and skills tests are conducted with fairness and consistency. Interested in learning more? - Full-time employment, 80 hours biweekly
- Work hours are 8:15 AM to 4:45 PM, Tuesday - Saturday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- This position may require overtime and travel.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as a Driver License Examiner (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Two years of experience as a Driver License Examiner Assistant (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Three years of experience obtaining, evaluating, and providing information to the public.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C Driver's License or equivalent and twenty-one years of age at the time of application.
- This position requires no suspensions or revocations of a driver's license during the five-year period immediately preceding employment.
Other Requirements:

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
