*Newport News, Virginia | $18-20 USD/hour* *Highlight:* ** Industry: Hospital & Healthcare* ** Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire (6-months) * ** Location: Newport News, VA* Working with an extensive client base, TEKsystems is searching for experienced Medical Transcriptionist and Administrative professionals in the Virginia area! *Benefits of this Role:* * Opportunity to work for one of the top three Healthcare Organization in the Virginia area * Work with a friendly team * Helpful and supportive leadership and executives * Great Benefits - Take advantage of a Blue Cross Blue Shield benefits package (Dental, vision, 401k) * Top Local Company -Join the largest employer and hospital in Virginia * Publicly Traded - Enjoy the stability of working for a publicly traded business * Best-In-Class Training - This client hires based on character, not just skillset as skills can be trained * Growth Opportunities - Look forward to the opportunity to cross-train and chase internal promotions *A Day in the Role:* * Work out of a dictation platform, signing into NextGen and the platform (part of NextGen), * Pull up work list and bring up voice files on 1 screen - they will download whatever provider they are assigned to that day - they will edit those in one screen and then copy and paste that into the EMR where there is a template that they bring up in the patient encounter * Typically they shoot to work within 48-72 hours of visit but right now they are around 4 days * As they work on the notes, they are listening to the doctors dictation, correcting the notes in the platform, copying sections at a time and paste into the template in NextGen in the patient's chart * As they work their way down, they may have to check into other systems to check in on x-rays or imaging or injections. If the provider schedules any of these things the transcriptionist will click on a "radio button" that will auto-populate a note in that states this. This is the same for if they are scheduling surgeries - it will populate text * Has to be a cohesive thought and be thinking at the same time to make sure it adds up - it is not just dictating what the doctor says - it is listening and making sure everything is correct and makes sense * Once they have everything there is a button they click in the EMR NexGen that will create the office note in the encounter * Will also have paperwork that the doctor sends up with the schedule and check it off as it gets completed, including paperwork from other hospital and doctor's visits and send to scanning * Metrics: work 30-60 notes/day dependent on doctor visits and note length * Systems: NextGen and the dictation software piece within NextGen * * *Requirements:* * 2+ years experience in Medical Transcription field * Diploma or GED required * EMR experience preferred *Next Steps:* * Please apply and The TEKsystems recruiting team will reach out to you to discuss next steps! *Contact me with questions:* * * *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
