Manages individualized, goal-directed nursing care through use of the nursing process and the principles of primary nursing in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures. Knows and applies current nursing theory, principles of care, and nursing policies and procedures in performing the following functions appropriate to the age of the patient: maintains a safe and clean care environment; engages in quality improvement; supervises nursing assistants; actively and consistently contributes to department operations and communications; behaves in a manner consistent with the mission, vision, and objectives of Jackson General Hospital; and performs other duties as requested.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1. Graduate of a school of nursing. 2. Current WV nursing license 3. BLS certification within 30 days from hire date 4. ACLS required 30 days from hire date for Med/Surg, OR, and ED 5. PALS required 30 days from hire date for OR and ED PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1. ACLS and PALS EXPERIENCE: 1. One (1) year direct patient care experience as an RN CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. Assesses and diagnoses patient and family needs to provide quality care to assigned patients 2. Demonstrates the skills and judgment necessary to implement medical plan of care, nursing interventions, and procedures as necessary for the care of the patient 4. Evaluates the identified problems, care provided, and patient's responses are reassessed in order to meet patient and family needs to ensure overall quality of care delivered. 5. Maintains uptodate and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to ensure the integration of information for use by the healthcare team, in order to ensure quality care 6. Maintains current knowledge/certification/licensure 7. Functions as a role model for current and new staff 8. Performs all responsibilities/duties required by the unit as specific to the scope of service to ensure that the unique nature of the client is addressed.
