Trucking Operations Supervisor

Operations Supervisor - Solid Waste / Transportation - Marengo Disposal / Waste Connections - Marengo, IL

Marengo Disposal, a Waste Connections company, is seeking a safety-driven Operations Supervisor to lead our team in Marengo, Illinois. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader with a background in transportation, logistics, or waste management who is looking to grow within a stable and expanding company.

In this role, you'll oversee a team of commercial truck drivers, manage day-to-day route operations, and promote a strong safety culture. We offer structured mentoring and training to prepare you for future management advancement opportunities within our national organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and assign work to solid waste collection crews

• Oversee daily operations and adjust routes and staff as needed for maximum efficiency

• Lead safety meetings, perform audits, and ensure regulatory compliance

• Manage and coordinate coordinating daily logistics with Dispatch

• Maintain and update employee files and HR documentation

• Enforce company policies through progressive discipline as required

• Conduct field inspections to ensure safety and service standards

• Address and resolve customer complaints related to collection services

• Complete quarterly performance reviews for route drivers

• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• 2+ years of supervisory experience, ideally in waste management, transportation, or logistics

• CDL license or willingness to obtain one

• Experience with dispatch, fleet operations, or route supervision is a plus

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills

• Bachelor's degree preferred
