This position serves as a strategic business partner to GATX's assigned repair facilities, delivering cost and financial insights to drive operational performance. The Finance Manager will focus on interpreting financial trends, identifying cost drivers, and influencing actions, in addition to reporting results. Leveraging automation and reporting tools in place, the emphasis of this role is on analysis, business partnership, and decision support.

The role reports to the Sr. Manager of Facility Finance and Railcar Analytics and works closely with plant managers, shop leadership, and the corporate business analysis team to ensure alignment with company goals.



Responsibilities

    Serve as the lead financial advisor for assigned repair facilities.
  • Develop and improve financial analysis and key metrics reporting.
  • Translate financial results into operational insights.
  • Use dashboards and analytics for clear communication of findings.
  • Support capital spending reporting, analysis and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Accounting, FP&A, and Internal Audit on compliance and controls.
  • Lead contract administration and property management functions.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and planning processes.
  • Analyze variances and suggest corrective actions.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or MBA preferred.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles; cost accounting experience preferred.
  • Experience in financial analysis within a service/maintenance or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to explain financials to non-finance leaders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence operational partners.

Other:

  • 10-15% travel required for support of multiple facilities, management meetings and projects.

As of the post date, the salary range for this position is:


Min

USD $90,400.00/Yr.


Max

USD $126,800.00/Yr.
This role may be eligible to participate in the Company's short-term incentive plan, the details of which will be provided to the applicant upon hire.
This range is a reasonable estimate and takes into account several factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including, but not limited to, geographic location, skill set, experience, education, training, internal equity, and other business needs.
