DESCRIPTION

Performs waived, moderate and high complexity testing. Performs and evaluates test results and quality control procedures. Performs instrument preventative maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting. May be cross trained in more than one area of the laboratory. Actively participates in evaluation and monitoring of quality control programs. Evaluates and implements new methods and and develops procedures. Instructs students in the CLS training program. Adheres to all applicable regulatory and accreditation quality standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Three (3) years experience of applicable clinical laboratory experience.

  • Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Three (3) year chemistry experience in a clinical lab setting.
  • Experience training CLSs.
  • Experience with validations.
  • Experience with new analyzer installation.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be available to work various hours based on department business needs.
  • May have possible exposure to biological, chemical, and radioactive hazards.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $121,626 - $160,275 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $58.25 - $76.76

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
