Acentra Health is looking for passionate Clinical Evaluators (PASRR) to join our growing team!

Job Summary

As a Clinical Evaluator on our Pre-Admission Screening and Resident Review (PASRR) team, you will play a critical role in helping individuals access the appropriate level of care at the right time. Based in Lawrence, Kansas, and serving surrounding areas, you'll conduct in-person assessments to support informed placement decisions and improve quality of life for individuals entering nursing facilities.

Your focus will be on completing comprehensive clinical evaluations for individuals with Serious Mental Illness (SMI), Intellectual Disabilities (ID), or Related Conditions (RC). These assessments are essential in determining appropriate care plans, enhancing individual well-being, and contributing to improved health outcomes. This role requires local travel, with all related expenses-including mileage and parking-fully reimbursed.

This PRN hybrid role offers flexibility and purpose-work from home while conducting in-person evaluations in local settings like nursing homes, clinics, and hospitals, staying closely connected to those you serve.

Job Responsibilities

  • As a Clinical Evaluator (PASRR), you will conduct accurate screenings and evaluations, developing informed level-of-care recommendations based on your clinical assessments.
  • Conduct assessments in various environments, including nursing homes, hospitals, and community settings, to understand and address the diverse needs of those we serve.
  • Adhere to the state's best standards of mental health practices, intellectual and developmental disabilities, geriatrics, and other conditions requiring nursing care services and supports.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory standards while developing level of care recommendations
  • Utilize independent judgment, deep clinical expertise, exceptional communication skills, and problem-solving abilities to navigate complex situations, ensuring the best outcomes for members, providers, and clients.
  • Foster effective collaboration with a diverse range of healthcare professionals, patients, families, and support networks while monitoring personal metrics to ensure compliance with turnaround time requirements.
  • Leverage technology by utilizing the state's electronic system and our proprietary platforms to efficiently manage and track all assessment activities.
  • Stay informed on current literature, regulations, and research pertaining to long-term care, mental illness, medical conditions, and geriatrics.
  • Ensure compliance with necessary workflows to maintain quality and efficiency.
  • Efficiently prioritize and execute tasks with attention to detail.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Active, unrestricted licensure in the state of Kansas in one of the following fields: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP), Registered Nurse (RN), or another qualified Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMHP).
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in assessing and diagnosing individuals with mental/psychiatric disorders, including expertise in complex differential diagnoses related to substance use, medical conditions, cognitive issues, and dementia.
  • At least 1 year of experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities or related conditions.
  • Graduation from an accredited college with a degree relevant to the field.
  • Working knowledge of the Preadmission Screening and Resident Review (PASRR) requirements as per Federal Regulation 42 CFR, Chapter 483, and the state PASRR rules.
  • Skilled in assessing and analyzing psychological, emotional, behavioral, and physical functioning to develop appropriate level of care recommendations based on clinical evaluations.
  • Knowledge of psychiatric disorders as outlined by the latest Diagnostic and Statistical Manual in use in Kansas.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with individuals and groups through verbal, written, and electronic formats.

  • Proficient in using computer equipment, medical software applications, databases, and the Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Detail-oriented with strong ability to prioritize and complete tasks efficiently within deadlines.

  • Familiarity with public mental health and medical programs is a plus.

  • Prior experience working with the geriatric population is preferred.

Compensation

The compensation for this role is $40.00 to $44.00 per hour

Based on our compensation program, an applicant's position placement in the pay range will depend on various considerations, such as years of applicable experience and skill level.
