The finance unit in the Dunlop School of Biological Sciences Dean's Office provides support services to all Dean's Office units and four academic departments. We facilitate transactions, process requests, research policies and procedures, and support overall financial and budgetary management for the School.


Your Role on the Team

Uses professional concepts to apply organization policies and procedures coordinate reimbursements and travel. Analyzes and resolves operational problems of moderate scope.


What It Takes to be Successful

Required:

  • Ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns.
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of staff verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Solid organizational skills and ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.
  • Working knowledge of common organization-specific and other computer application programs.
  • Ability to maintain tracking systems, electronic and/or paper filing system.
  • Ability to analyze and implement policies and procedures.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and communicate with departmental staff, management, and other campus staff.
  • Skills in financial analysis and problem resolution, and in following through on assignments.
  • Ability to follow directions and work effectively as a team member to attain organizational objectives.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of University of California accounting and procedures to complete forms necessary to accomplish various account/business transactions.
  • Knowledge of Kuali Financial Systems or similar financial system.
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience
  • 1-3 years Experience in administration and/or finance or an equivalent combination of education and experience/training.

Preferred:

  • Working knowledge of University of California contracts and grants administrative procedures.
