About the Role:

Responsible for supervising Shipping and Receiving staff, as well as overseeing the daily operations of the shipping and receiving functions, including accurate and timely handling, storage and dispatch of incoming and outgoing goods (including hazardous materials and capital equipment) and the associated paperwork, ensuring compliance with safety and inventory control procedures, maintaining strong communication with internal teams and external vendors, and processing Service Now requests. This role ensures smooth workflow and a high-level quality of customer service.

Your Contributions:
  • Supervise Shipping and Receiving staff members.

  • Train, mentor and evaluate shipping and receiving staff to ensure productivity and adherence to company policies.

  • Coordinate and monitor daily shipping and receiving activities.

  • Oversee inspection of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify accuracy and quality of materials.

  • Ensure shipments are properly labeled, documented and meet all regulatory and company standards.

  • Monitor shipping and receiving logs and inventory databases for accuracy.

  • Investigate and resolve shipping errors, damaged goods and delivery discrepancies.

  • Ensure the work area is maintained in a clean, safe and organized manner in compliance with OSHA and company standards.

  • Recommend process improvements and assist in implementing more efficient logistics.

  • Develop and maintain shipping and receiving workflow systems to improve efficiency and productivity.

  • Collaborate with supply chain, accounting, Operations and other cross-functional teams to support operational goals.

  • Oversee the daily operation of the forklift and ensure all regulatory and company standards are followed

  • Coordinate and collaborate with the Unity Lab Services representatives for Vendor Managed Inventory materials and warehouse operations

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma and 4+ years supervisory experience in an office environment OR

  • BS/BA degree in Business Administration or related field and 2+ years of supervisory experience in an office environment

  • Certifications in 49 CFR/IATA Hazardous Materials shipping, Forklift operation, and Transportation and Logistics Preferred

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a solid process and detail orientation

  • Knowledge of shipping and receiving processes and cost-containment strategies

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrated strong organizational and time management skills

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Proven ability to manage vendors

  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ERP (Coupa preferred)

  • Valid driver's license and ability to drive company vehicles

  • Good understanding of how the team supports other departments and uses that knowledge to improve efficiency and provide high-quality customer service levels

  • Previous supervisory experience required

The hourly rate we reasonably expect to pay is $45.21-$63.88. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 20% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
