"Client's Vehicle Group division is currently seeking a Service Packer to join our Materials team. This
position is based at our Kings Mountain, NC facility. Position Overview: The driving focus of the Service Packer will be to support the Service department and Materials group to achieve plant distribution goals and sustain operational efficiency through the preparation and packaging of parts for shipment. Includes driving fork truck routes and Aftermarket picking, packaging and shipping for customers to include expedited shipments and UPS shipping. In this role, you will: * Operate a forklift to drive material routes and perform parts picking duties * Move assembled parts from end of line locations to the Service/Pick Pack area * Pack, label and ship parts for external customers; maintain and distribute related documentation * Review available reports and documents to determine allocation of parts for shipment * Work under time constraints while maintaining 100% accuracy of transactions * Maintain accurate maintenance records by completing the forklift safety audit at the start of every shift * Operate lifting aids and/or overhead hoists to manipulate and move parts * Be cross-trained and cover peers' absences, including material handler and shipping coordinator (if needed) * Assist in on-the-job training for new employees. * Adhere to all safety and quality procedures, and company policies and guidelines. * Assist in maintaining an atmosphere of continuous improvement and team efforts for accomplishing departmental and plant objectives. * Watch for and report unusual conditions, safety issues, or defective material * Work as a team member to meet safety, quality and productivity goals and requirements * Maintain work area housekeeping and assist in department/team housekeeping and 5S efforts * Complete daily tasks in compliance with standard work * Perform work in a manner which supports Client's Quality systems (QS, 9000, TS 16949, CQI-9), and Environmental system (ISO 14000). * A reasonable amount of overtime is required, including weekends and holidays as scheduled. Upon hire, must pass forklift examination and operate forklift in a safe manner. * Basic computer skills * Able to lift up to 40 lbs. on a regular basis * Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship * No relocation is available for this position.
