Job Description

Position Summary

This position will direct and perform various Production Control duties. The Production Control Specialist will work in conjunction with the Production Control Manager, Sales and Engineering teams to execute monthly and quarterly sales planes for the Operation. Involved with a wide range of functional areas within the operation. Position reports to Production Control Manager.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain Production Control and Inventory Management systems that ensure on-time delivery at a cost-effective level of inventory.
  • Plans, schedules, and communicates monthly and quarterly sales forecast.
  • Directs effective and timely communications of material issues to keep the production and engineering community well informed of plans, concerns, and status.
  • Coordinates activities of Production Control Specialist in maintaining daily productions requirements to the forecast.
  • Supports an environment conducive to successful team interaction.
  • Participates in the implementation and coordination of the annual physical inventory in conjunction with the finance organization.
  • Supports continuous process improvement in material control by maintaining and monitoring associated metrics.
  • Resolves complex problems that have immediate and long-term implications by partnering with internal and external customers.
  • Coordinate daily workflow through the shipping/receiving dock.
  • Provide shift to shift communication and positive work atmosphere.
  • Maintain labor and truck schedules while creating smooth daily operations.
  • Schedule/prioritize and expedite outside services.
  • Coordinate shipping and trucking companies and prepare shipment paperwork, including Customs documentation.
  • Oversee and perform as needed daily ship clerk responsibilities.
  • Responsible for scheduling work hours/vacations, tracking attendance, approving timecards on weekly basis, as well as handling reviews for employees.

Experience & Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics or Engineering Technology.
  • 3-5 years' experience in production planning/scheduling preferably in a lead role.
