Acara solutions is looking for a Technical Writer to work for our partner located in Prescott, AZ who specializes in Avionics.

Here's what you'll get:

Pay: $35-45/hr DOE
Hours: 8am-5pm (Flexible hours)
Duration: Temporary

Here's what you'd do:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly communicative individual to support our operations and engineering teams by updating and maintaining critical manufacturing documentation. This role will be responsible for revising and organizing procedures, test protocols, work instructions, and technical specifications for our aerospace-grade electronic products, including radios, audio devices, and related assemblies.
The successful candidate will serve as a liaison between shop floor personnel and engineering, ensuring that documentation reflects current processes and meets internal quality and compliance standards.
* Review, update, and maintain manufacturing and test documentation including procedures, work instructions, and specifications.
* Gather input from technicians, supervisors, and engineering staff to accurately reflect current practices.
* Collaborate with Engineering Services to navigate the documentation approval process.
* Ensure all documentation aligns with company standards and industry compliance requirements.
* Maintain version control and document history for traceability and audit readiness.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying gaps or inefficiencies in existing documentation.
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
* 2+ years minimum of proven experience in technical writing, documentation control, or manufacturing support (preferably in electronics or aerospace).
* 2+ years minimum of strong understanding of electronic assemblies, wiring, and test procedures is highly desirable.
* Exceptional communication skills-verbal and written-with the ability to interface effectively with technicians, engineers, and leadership.
* 2+ years minimum of familiarity with RF and high-level electronic test equipment is a plus.
* Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple document streams simultaneously.
* Proficient in document editing tools (Word, Excel, PDF editors) and ideally document management systems (e.g., Windchill, SharePoint, or similar).
