Senior Accountant, Consolidations:

The Senior Accountant - Consolidations is a key role and member within the Windsor Controlling group (Windsor refers to the direct parent entity that owns Univar Solutions and is the issuer of privately held corporate debt), being primarily focused on the discipline of Consolidations for the global enterprise.

This role will administer foundational elements within the global consolidations financial close and internal reporting process including supporting global intercompany and affiliate management by timely identifying related imbalances or misclassifications and facilitating needed corrections and offering assistance to regional and local finance directors to reduce and eliminate intercompany out-of-balance amounts. This role will also regularly administer reviews of both entity level and consolidated financial statements, driving operating efficiencies and consistent practices, including the development and governance of financial reviews, reducing consolidation level correcting adjustments and supporting legal entity rationalization, and maintain effective internal controls. This role will also participate in the quarterly external consolidated financial reporting process, including the creation and review of financial statements and footnote disclosures, supporting cash management activities, journal entries and account reconciliation review and policy compliance. This role will continually be tasked with driving adherence to group standards and in finding efficiencies to reduce the total time needed to complete a close and minimize the amount of consolidation correcting entries, top sides, etc.

This position reports to the Senior Manager - Consolidations.

What You'll Do:

  • Administer the monthly global consolidation process including the recording and/or reviewing consolidating entries and reconciliation of inter-company.
  • Facilitate monthly deliverables in support of the internal reporting process and corresponding entity level and consolidated financial statement reviews.
  • Support regional and local accounting teams, offering assistance and expertise when needed.
  • Assist in the preparation of footnotes and related disclosures to support the quarterly external reporting process.
  • Work with regional and local finance personnel to assist in monthly close process.
  • Prepare and/or review account reconciliations and corresponding policy compliance.
  • Key point of contact for the quarterly review and annual audit process with the external auditors.
  • Ad-hoc projects requested and deemed appropriate.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • An active CPA, or advancing toward, is preferred
  • 3+ years accounting experience; large and or multi-national, multi-currency company experience is preferred. For reference, Univar currently has >130 consolidation entities across 110 countries with transactions spanning 28 currencies.
  • Consolidation experience, including use of consolidation systems, is helpful
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office apps
  • Familiarity with accounting and reporting (US GAAP) knowledge.
  • Familiarity with modern, best-in-class, consolidations systems (such as OneStream) and or ERP systems (such as SAP) is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to influence people and processes without direct responsibility.
  • Ability to prioritize, plan, organize and meet deadlines

Where You'll Work:

  • This role is fully remote and can sit out of any location within the United States
  • Opportunities for occasional travel to promote group cohesion and or to foster partnerships with key customers will be available.

Pay & Benefits:

  • The expected salary range is between $110,000- $125,000. This role is also eligible for incentive pay.
  • The specific salary offered to a candidate may be motivated by a variety of factors including the candidate's meaningful experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
