Schedule: 10month oncampus assignment (August 1 - May 31) with salary and full benefits paid across 12months

What You'll Do

  • Provides nursing assessment of illness/injury and appropriate care and referral, in a culturally sensitive environment, as necessary.

  • Assists the Physician during regular weekly clinics, obtains health history, and prepares supplies and equipment for use during clinics.

  • Maintains accurate and confidential medical records on all patients.

  • Administers medication, vaccines and treatments, following Physician orders and records their administration.

  • Instructs and encourages patients in good health practices. Assists in the preparation and selection of patient education materials including instruction sheets and brochures.

  • Responsible for the use and maintenance of Health Services equipment and assists in maintaining a clean and safe Health Services environment.

  • Complies with laboratory policies in the collection and preparation of specimens. Accurately performs waived laboratory testing and records laboratory results, providing information, referral and counseling to patients, as appropriate.

  • Communicates with other staff via written and verbal reports regarding patient condition, follow-up and problems or changes in services.

  • Responsible for accurate patient billing for services and equipment.

  • Participates in continuing education programs to improve nursing skills and maintain professional competence.

  • Assists in ordering supplies and maintaining the integrity of adequate stock.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

  • Cooperates and collaborates with other employees in the spirit of teamwork and collegiality and interacts with confidence, patience and integrity to provide professional leadership during emergencies.

  • Complies with all Trinity University policies and guidelines.

  • Performs other duties as required.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

The role requires mobility across campus, adherence to universal precautions, and the ability to lift or carry up to50lbs. Occasional evening or weekend activities may be necessary.
