The Shipping/Receiving Technician is responsible for logistical activities such as shipping and receiving of materials through coordination with 3rd party vendors including order entry, preparing packaging and shipping documentation, and delivery of incoming packages.

What does the position do? Schedule: 1st Shift, Monday through Friday
- Responsible for logistical activities such as shipping and receiving of materials through coordination with 3rd party couriers
- Package delivery
- Inspect incoming materials for visible damage, note and receive, or note and reject as needed
- Responsible for accurately preparing, packaging and providing documentation with outgoing shipments
- Work with site contacts to identify and make recommendations for operational improvements
- Handles chemicals, including hazardous materials
- Updating and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures
- Other duties as assigned
What do you need to have? (required)
- High school diploma or GED
- 1+ years experience in material handling, inventory replenishment, and/or customer service
- Able to lift up to 50lbs
- Basic digital literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong communication skills and a high level of customer service skills while displaying a professional can-do demeanor
- Ability to prioritize tasks, and solve problems
- Must be flexible, forward- thinking, motivated, and have the confidence to act independently
- Perform duties with the highest regard for safety and quality
- Conform to all company and customer requirements for background checks, health and safety issues, and security clearances.
- Ability to understand and follow site protocols, policies and procedures
What would be nice to have? (Desired but not required)
- Spill containment training, IATA, DOT, IMDG and OSHA Right to Know experience
- Previous experience working in or around scientific lab
- Knowledge of scientific products and services
What are the working conditions like? Typically works in an office, stockroom, or warehousing environment with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level. The associate is required to stand and walk for the majority of the working day. The physical requirements of the job are for associates to talk, hear, bend/stoop, squat, reach above shoulder height, crouch, kneel, balance, and push/pull. Furthermore, the job requires associates to lift/carry/push or pull up to 50 pounds with or without assistance. Associates use both hands for repetitive actions such as grasping and manipulating as well as both feet for repetitive movement. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
