The Opportunity

Data Scientist III - Data Science & Analytics (DAT Solutions, LLC, Denver,
CO): Helping the organization extract value from our data by undertaking research
projects, prototyping machine learning models, statistical models, and other proof-
of-concept projects (10%); Independently designing research experiments to help
build production level model (10%); Working closely with ML Engineers on the Data
Science team to turn successful prototypes into new products (10%); Develop
python code libraries, programs, and application which support the analytical and
data processes within the team (10%); Writing unit and integration tests to test
their code (5%); Writing code that can be committed to shared repositories using
versioning tools like Git and Github; refactor script-style code to make some
components reusable in future research, or by other researchers (10%); Reviewing
code PRs for other researchers and engineers on the team. Work with ML engineers
to move researched models to production (5%); Owning smaller data science
products independently, and co-owning important and high-impact products (10%);
Act as on call incident response for models in production (5%); Help adjacent teams
understand how to best utilize existing data (10%); Work in an Agile project
management environment - planning and writing tickets for the research work
assigned (15%). Must have experience with the following in order to complete the
above-mentioned tasks: Expert in machine learning and on top of state-of-the-art
algorithms; Strong understanding of statistics and statistical tests pertaining to
evaluation of machine learning models; Experience working with relational
databases like Snowflake, and data structures; Experience using cloud tools for data
science, i.e., AWS S3, EC2, Sagemaker, GCP, Azure; Expert level Python coding;
Experience using Docker, ECR and JFrog for model registry and moving models into
production; Experience leading and completing independent research projects in an
industry environment; Experience writing Terraform code; Experience delivering
data science products in the freight and logistics industry; Experience being on call
incident responder for cloud-based production models; Experience with BI tools such
as Tableau, Power BI or Snowsight; Experience scoping out end to end experiments
and mentoring junior data scientists; Experience with version control systems such
as Github; Experience coding with other researchers/engineers on shared
repositories, and reviewing code of others; Experience with model monitoring and
maintenance; Experience owning smaller data science products independently
including as a product owner, and co-owning important and high-impact products;
Ability to concisely present complex experimental results to internal stakeholders,
and communicate relevant business outcomes from those results; Ability to adapt
novel methods from academic and industry white-papers to be used on our own
business problems; and Advanced SQL skills specifically with Snowflake including
experience with window functions and common table expressions (CTEs). Requires
a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Data Science,
Statistics, Computer Engineering or a related field, and at least three years of
experience as a Data Scientist, Machine Learning Engineer or a related occupation.
In the alternative, a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent and at least five years
of experience in the above-mentioned field and occupation is required. Travel is required 5% of the time to Beaverton, OR. Option to work from home up to three
days per week. Salary: $138,133 - $167,000. Send C.V. to
