  • Title: Analyst, High Grade & Leveraged Capital Markets About the JobHigh Grade & High Yield Capital Markets (HG/HY), a product-specialized group within KeyBanc Capital Markets (KBCM), is focused on the origination and execution of bond and other fixed-income financing for KBCM's clients across our focus industries (Industrial, Consumer Products, Healthcare, Technology, Oil & Gas, Utilities & Power, Real Estate, and Corporate Banking). HG/HY specializes in Investment-Grade public bond offerings, High-Yield bond financings, Private Placements, and Preferred Debt for LBOs, strategic acquisitions and refinancing needs of our clients. The Group is a part of the broader Debt Capital Markets platform that is broadly focused on High-Grade and Leveraged Loan and Bond financing; HG/HY also works closely with our Syndicate, Sales, and Trading teams in Cleveland, New York, and Chicago. The Analyst supports senior bankers with all aspects of industry banker interaction, client coverage, deal origination, and transaction execution; by providing market updates to clients, structuring transactions, creating presentation and meeting materials, executing deals, and interacting with clients and investors. The Analyst in HG/HY has significant exposure to senior bankers and is expected to become facile with the bond asset class, bond markets and broad macro-economic trends that regularly impact the capital markets. Essential Job Functions
  • Interaction with industry and other product investment bankers to develop ideas and create pitch materials
  • Creating client presentations
  • Create deal marketing materials
  • Creating market updates, including weekly updates for target sectors and clients
  • All components of deal execution, including marketing and distribution on lead managed transactions
  • Credit and market research
  • Ratings Analysis
  • Capital Structure Analysis
  • Development of understanding of various components of capital structure and pricing
  • Assembling and updating bond comps and pricing analyses
  • Pricing bonds and calculation of cost / benefit analysis of refinancing
  • Covenant and legal document analysis
  • Interacting with Compliance functions internally as necessary
  • Developing knowledge of investor base (e.g., mutual funds, hedge funds, asset managers, pensions)
  • Interacting with Syndicate, Sales & Trading
  • Maintaining bond transaction databases
  • Creating internal and external deal announcements
  • Travel with senior bankers to client meetings
  • Attending seminars and industry conventions
  • Assisting with college recruiting activities
  • Demonstrating the Key Values - Teamwork, Respect, Accountability, Integrity and Leadership
  • Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or similar field preferred
  • Strong aptitude for, and interest in, investment banking and capital markets
  • At least 1 year of demonstrated relevant experience; though willing to consider recent college graduates
  • Series 79 and 63 (90 days from starting date)

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

  • This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $105,000 to $125,000 annually depending on location and job-related factors such as level of experience, education, licenses, and certifications. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for short-term incentive compensation and deferred incentive compensation subject to individual and company performance.
