Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:



  • Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) or Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC), or equivalent certification in addictions or co-occurring disorders from a statewide body recognized by a national certification organization or another state government's certification board.
  • Bachelor's in human-services related field
  • Minimum of 1 year working with individuals who have co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders.
  • Valid Driver's License. Travel is necessary to offer support across Westmoreland County.

We are seeking an Co-Occurring Therapist to join our team in our Greensburg, PA location supporting Westmoreland County.

Earn $22.16 / hour + mileage reimbursement

Position Details



  • Consult with Psychiatrist and Primary Care Physicians on the effects of addiction on mental and physical health and assist in determining the appropriate course of treatment for individuals with co-occurring disorders.
  • Collaborate with the registered nurses in the assessment of an individual's physical health, making appropriate referrals to community physicians for further assessment and treatment, and in coordination of medical, psychiatric, and substance abuse treatment.
  • Provide ongoing support and counseling and education to team members, individuals, and family members to help them become more knowledgeable about substance abuse disorders. Submit written reports and oral testimony and presentation of opinion in commitment and other legal proceedings, as necessary.
  • Attending organizational staff meetings and treatment planning meetings as requested to assess patients and assist with staff training and education, as necessary.


Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Teams are composed of professionals including psychiatrists, nurses, mental health professionals, substance abuse professionals, employment specialists, housing specialists, and a peer specialist, all of whom collaborate to provide complete services including therapy, medication management, and resource linkage to adult individuals with serious mental illness (SMI). Services are provided in the individual's home or the community and include at least three home visits a week. Will be required to utilize personal vehicles for client transportation and community-based work
