Purpose of the Role

As a Cost Analyst I at Worley, you will support the successful delivery of complex energy, chemicals, and resources projects by providing accurate and insightful cost data to drive decision-making and performance. Positioned at the intersection of finance, engineering, and project controls, this role plays a key part in ensuring financial accountability and transparency across our portfolio. You will help bridge the worlds of conventional energy and sustainable transformation, contributing to our goal of delivering a more sustainable world.


Key Responsibilities


  • Prepare, maintain, and analyze project cost reports, supporting performance tracking against budget and forecast for internal and external stakeholders.



  • Monitor and evaluate man-hours and cost data to identify trends, support corrective actions, and ensure project alignment with commercial objectives.



  • Assist in forecasting future project costs using historical data, planned activities, and project team insights.



  • Support the development of cost estimates related to changes in project scope, work orders, and contract modifications.



  • Conduct periodic site visits and collaborate with project teams to validate reported progress and enhance cost accuracy.



  • Ensure that cost management practices align with Worley's systems and standards, enabling data-centric and integrated project delivery.



  • Work closely with engineering, procurement, and scheduling teams to ensure cohesive and efficient cost integration throughout the project lifecycle.



  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying gaps in processes and proposing practical, data-informed solutions.



  • May provide guidance to junior cost analysts and support knowledge-sharing within the broader project controls function.



Qualifications / Skill Set


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in finance, engineering, business, or a related discipline, or relevant industry experience.



  • Foundational experience in cost analysis or project controls, ideally within the energy, chemicals, or infrastructure sectors.



  • Familiarity with financial and project control systems, including intermediate knowledge of project cost reporting tools and data analysis platforms.



  • Ability to interpret technical and contractual documentation and relate it to project costs and performance.



  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills to present ideas clearly and collaborate effectively across disciplines.



  • Comfortable working in a dynamic environment that blends traditional energy projects with sustainability-driven initiatives.



  • Detail-oriented and analytical, with a drive for process improvement and data accuracy.



  • A strong commitment to safety, integrity, and continuous learning, in line with Worley's values and long-term vision for sustainable change.
