What You'll Do:

This role will support external or internal testing requests as it relates to test scoping, execution, including application-level setup within OCC's Ovation system, creation of testing inputs, initiating, and monitoring the applicable jobs, and confirming the resulting outbound data files and reports are produced. Processing can extend to multiple areas of Ovation including Clearing (Trade/Post Trade and Position Processing, creation of DDS), Data (Reporting, Billing, Industry Services) as well as downstream Risk/Margin systems (Prices, OFRA, Margins). The analyst will support these efforts in test planning and preparation, execution, as well as troubleshooting with external parties. The analyst may also support connectivity and DDS requests as required to facilitate testing or support Production.

This position requires a mix of business and technology knowledge.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary duty satisfactorily.

  • Works with external/internal parties to scope testing efforts prior to test execution, identifying applicable inputs, outputs, needed system processing and connection points. Ensures test scope is complete and accurate.

  • Supports externally requested testing of real-time and batch data interfaces, facilitating roundtrip testing through OCC systems for on-boarding, new or expanded external capabilities and software, OCC expanded functionality and industry initiatives to ensure external party readiness.

  • Coordinates test and production SFTP and MQ connectivity from request through verification of connectivity

  • Assists in testing and production DDS setup of new and maintenance on existing DDS packages.

  • Create, execute and monitor test plans and strategies, performing any environment and/or data setup.

  • Supports external testing party questions, providing troubleshooting as needed and confirming test completion.

  • Coordinates with applicable business areas as needed when testing.

  • For testing associated to internal project work, actively participates in project meetings to provide testing status, and reports any missing/incomplete capabilities identified during testing.

  • Writes clear and precise reports as required for identified software defects and/or functional defects identified during testing. Coordinates with design/technical staff as needed to facilitate resolution.

  • Understands environment requirements and can implement maintenance activities including upgrading, analyzing impacts to active test environments and coordinating the implementation of those changes.

  • Communicates in a clear and concise manner all time delays or defects in the software immediately to appropriate testing parties, team members and management.

  • Complete various projects and initiatives as assigned by Management.

Technical Skills:

  • [Required] Broad knowledge of systems and application development technological alternatives: familiarity with Client/Server concepts (i.e. Java, JSP, Servlet, C++, HTML, Unix/Linux, SQL), Mainframe (TSO navigation, basic file editing, job monitoring), Unix/Linux (basic VI Editor skills), Cloud Services and scheduling packages (UC4, CA7, Autosys)

  • [Required]Understanding of relational database models. Proficiency in SQL (DB2, SQL server; queries, data manipulation, reading data models)

  • [Required]Familiarity with XML concepts and structures.

  • [Required] Familiarity with real-time (MQ) and batch (SFTP, Connect:Direct) protocols

  • Programming/Scripting Experience/knowledge in any one language (Java, VB script, Python).

Education and/or Experience:

  • [Required] Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

  • [Required] 1+ years of experience in system analysis and application testing role.

  • [Required] Experience developing test scope, plans, and test cases.

  • [Preferred] Test management experience leading small to large projects and development of test plans.

Compensation

  • The salary range listed for any given position is exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. If hired at OCC, your final base salary compensation will be determined by factors such as skills, experience and/or education.
  • In addition, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
  • We typically do not hire at the maximum of the range in order to allow for future and continued salary growth. We also offer a substantial benefits package as noted on www.theocc.com/careers
  • All employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus. Discretionary bonuses are based on various factors, including, but not limited to, company and individual performance and are not guaranteed.

Salary Range

$81,200.00 - $137,200.00

Incentive Range

6% to 10%

This position is eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award, for which the target range is listed above (see Incentive Range). The amount of such award, if any, will be based on various factors, including without limitation, both individual and company performance.
