Position Description:
The Education Program Coordinator III is responsible for administrative leadership of the Department of Surgery Continuing Professional Education including symposiums, named lectureships and weekly grand rounds and morbidity and mortality conferences. Work closely with faculty leaders to coordinate the daily administrative activities of the program. Provide support to the team to facilitate the achievement of the program's goals.
Primary Functions
- Maintain program timeline including tracking deadlines for program deliverables.
- Develop and manage program budget.
- Schedule people and material resources.
- Serves as the primary contact for all named lectureships and leads symposiums in Department of Surgery Programs.
- Coordinate the development of program materials including educational materials, marketing materials, websites, forms, and reports.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of comprehensive databases and files related to the program.
- Organize internal and external meetings, site visits, and special events.
- Execute institutional or program activities with a high degree of independence.
- Maintain proficiency in CME accreditation. Manage activities related to these requirements to ensure full compliance with a high degree of independence.
- Serve as primary liaison with faculty, administration, other departments, affiliated institutions, outside institutions and national organizations.
- Creates budgets and manages finances for all programs
- Develop and maintain database(s) to track, schedule and record activities related to the institution, program(s) and/or learners.
- Serve as an expert regarding information, support and problem solving on a wide range of issues for leaders, faculty, staff and learners.
- Coordinate recruitment of speakers.
- Design and create brochures, flyers, handbooks and other educational materials.
- Coordinate assessment and evaluation activities with a high degree of independence.
- Monitor programmatic budgets. Lead or oversee the work of support staff.
- Report program progress and data to program stakeholders, including departmental faculty, chiefs, and chair.

Position Requirements:
Appropriate experience may be substituted for education on an equivalent basis
Minimum Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Minimum Required Experience: 5 years of related experience
Preferred Experience: Event coordination; continuing professional education
