GENERAL DESCRIPTION The Wood Shop carpenter performs activities that involve cutting and shaping pieces to create the right look for each panel. They make the blank out material in the panels. - Reads and understands pour sheets.
- Cuts insulation.
- Cuts blank out material for panels and nailers for each pour.
- Knowledge in safe operation of table saw, band saw, miter saw, pneumatic nail gun, etc.
- Cuts and assembles wood components to build forming and bulkheads in structural and architectural buildings.
- Seals wood forms when needed.
- Creates any special blanks or notches required for a project.
- Prepares materials for bed set ups.
- Drills holes into wood forms for beds.
- Helps perform special form build-ups/directs how to as well
- Carries wood form out to production to be painted or varnished.
- Performs duties indoors and outdoors.
- Operates forklifts to move materials from storage areas to work areas for fabrication.
- Acts in professional manner that demonstrates the individual has good character and can be trusted by all employees.
- Accountable to practice BSP program and housekeeping in their assigned area.
EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- High School Diploma or GED
- Technical training or work experience in carpentry preferred.
- Must have interpersonal communication skills to interact with co-workers, supervisors, and managers.
- Must be able to solve problems quickly and efficiently.
- General math skills and ability to read tape measure.
- Ability to work with others to get the project completed efficiently and work independently when needed.
- Knowledge of products the company uses, and which products would work best.
- Understand and accept changes that are implemented to become Best in Class.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ ADA ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Physically able to lift up to 75 lbs, occasionally.
- Physically able to push, pull, lift, bend, climb, kneel, twist, squat, crawl and use hands/forearms repetitively and frequently.
- Ability to move around for up to 12 hours per day.
- Ability to work from ladders, scaffolding, swing stages and man lifts at various heights frequently.

- Moderate to high risk of exposure to unusual elements.

- Moderate to high exposure to production environment.
