![]() Emergency Medicine Physician, Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor, Emergency Medicine Location: Stony Brook, New York Open Date: May 22, 2025 Deadline: Jun 22, 2025 at 11:59 PM Eastern Time Description The Residency Program Director will lead the Stony Brook Emergency Medicine Residency Program, a three-year ACGME-accredited program that has trained top-tier emergency physicians since 1990. The incoming director will have the vision and leadership skills necessary to transition the program to a four-year curriculum, aligning with anticipated ACGME requirements. This role reports to the Vice Chair of Education, the Department Chair, and the Associate Dean for Graduate Medical Education/DIO and provides oversight to Associate Program Directors (APDs) and Program Coordinators. Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: MD, DO, or MD/PhD (or foreign equivalent). Completion of an ACGME-accredited Emergency Medicine residency. Board certification in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM). Minimum three years of documented educational and/or administrative experience. Minimum three years of experience as core faculty in an Emergency Medicine residency program. Demonstrated scholarly activity, including peer-reviewed publications. Ability to obtain and maintain a faculty appointment at Stony Brook University Hospital. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Completion of a Medical Education Fellowship.
