At Oracle Analytics, we are reimagining how enterprises derive value from their data. We looking for a Senior Director of Applied Science to play a leading role in the development of next-generation generative AI powered analytics solutions. As a Senior Director you will lead teams of applied scientists, data scientists, and research engineers in developing new approaches to natural language based interaction with structured data, creating agentic systems for multi-faceted data analysis, enabling custom analytics, and integrating your solutions into intelligent applications for industry verticals. You will collaborate with product and engineering leadership to design new services and product features and transition cutting-edge science solutions into production. The role is intended for a science leader with deep expertise in machine learning, deep learning, and generative AI and at least 7 years of experience leading AI teams in an industry setting. The successful candidate should have the ability to identify novel research and business trends and design practical science solutions in response to business requirements. Practical experience building and leading teams in generative AI based development (LLMs, agents/agent frameworks, model evaluation techniques) is required, as is experience deploying and continuously improving science solutions within production environments, with demonstrated impact on business outcomes. Preferred qualifications include expertise in analytics, machine learning for structured data, graph-based learning, time series modeling, or mathematical optimization. ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities: Lead an applied science team to develop innovative science solutions in response to business requirements. Stay informed on science and industry trends and help set strategic technical directions. Own strategy execution and collaborate with cross-functional team to deliver on yearly goals. Identify new opportunities for scientific exploration and evaluate emerging technologies. Hire and develop junior and mid-level applied scientists. Qualifications and Experience: PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of experience working on Machine Learning/AI/Generative AI. Minimum of 7 years of experience leading Applied Science teams in an industry setting. Proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks. Strong publication record in first-tier journals or conferences (ACL, EMNLP, ICML, ICLR, Neurips, etc.) Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Understanding of business and engineering oriented aspects of AI development. Strong team leadership and communication abilities. Ownership-oriented mindset and ability to execute within a fast-paced environment.
