Description

This is a per diem/casual position working 8-hr day shifts on varied weekdays, generally from 8am-4:30pm. No weekends or evenings. Must work 4 shifts in 4 weeks but ideally will pick up more shifts. Training is full time for 4 weeks. Located at Scripps Clinic Rancho Bernardo.

  • Our highly skilled Specialized Services RNs work in an innovative, welcoming, and patient-centered environment.
  • The department consists of 9 chairs and do an average of 35-50 cancer treatments including oncology infusions and supporting treatments.
  • The care team includes the charge nurse, infusion nurses, and scheduling team.
  • You will work in close contact with the clinic provider and their team.
  • Treating all malignancy types, we have a compounding pharmacy on site and are proud of our patient outcomes.



What you'll do:



  • Perform patient assessments, central line management, chemotherapy/biotherapy administration, supportive care medication administration, etc.
  • Educate patients and document patient interactions.
  • Practice infection control.
  • Contribute to the team as necessary to ensure quality patient care within own scope of practice.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:



  • ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate.
  • Completion of accredited RN program.
  • Minimum 1 year RN experience.
  • Current CA RN license.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certificate.
  • Chemotherapy/biotherapy administration experience.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • 1 or more years RN experience in an outpatient Oncology setting.
  • Excellent IV skills and experience with central venous catheters.
  • Outpatient oncology infusion experience.
