Scope of Work:

The primary purpose of the Bus Driver position is to support daily vehicle operations across a secure government-contracted facility. This position is responsible for safely operating GSA-leased vehicles, performing scheduled transportation tasks such as courier services, shuttle operations, and warehouse deliveries, while ensuring compliance with federal vehicle use policies and site protocols.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate a variety of GSA-leased vehicles to perform transportation tasks, including campus shuttle routes, document/package delivery, and warehouse transfers.
  • Complete and maintain accurate trip tickets and other required documentation for each vehicle use.
  • Follow all federal and site-specific rules regarding vehicle safety, key control, fueling, and vehicle operation.
  • Ensure proper fueling procedures using WEX fuel cards and maintain accurate fuel usage logs.
  • Perform pre- and post-trip inspections to identify and report any safety or maintenance issues.
  • Adhere to daily vehicle schedules, assigned routes, and delivery deadlines while maintaining professional conduct.
  • Assist with tracking vehicle keys and reporting any discrepancies or concerns immediately to the Transportation Supervisor.
  • Support vehicle cleanliness and basic upkeep; coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure vehicles remain in safe, operable condition.
  • Respond promptly to direction from supervisors and maintain clear communication with team members and site staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • One (1) year of related Bus Operating experience.
  • Class A is preferred. Class B is a minimum requirement.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a fully adjudicated Secret Clearance.
  • Must be able to obtain an interim Secret Clearance prior to start.
  • Must hold and maintain the state-required driver's license to operate a company/customer vehicle.
  • Experience operating passenger vans, box trucks, or similar vehicles preferred.
  • Familiarity with vehicle inspection procedures and safe driving practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to complete documentation accurately and consistently.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a structured environment.
  • Basic computer or mobile device skills a plus (for trip tickets, logs, and digital records).
  • Will have standard shift but must be able to support 5:00 AM to 6:00 PM shifts when required.
  • Must have practical knowledge of worksite safety, occupational hazards, and standard safety practices.
  • Duties will require frequent periods of sitting, standing, kneeling, walking, crouching, crawling, reaching, and balancing. Physically fit to bend, stoop, and lift in awkward positions and able to lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Must be able to successfully complete a drug/alcohol test and a criminal record check.
  • Must have a safe driving record, as defined by Company policy, to operate a company vehicle.
