Essential Job Responsibilities:

The IT Asset Manager drives the information asset lifecycle, ensuring compliance with licensing terms, optimizing costs, reducing technical debt, and maintaining accurate records of hardware and software configurations. This role works with IT technical staff, procurement, finance and accounting, and legal to ensure configuration data is highly accurate at all times. Key goals include minimizing technical debt by actively managing end-of-life well before dates arrive, ensuring software licenses are compliant with contracts, reclamation of un- or under-used licenses, and ensuring highly accurate information is available to assess change risks or manage major incidents.



  • Track and report asset lifecycle details from acquisition through disposal.
  • Coordinate updates to configuration data to ensure it is both complete and accurate.
  • Prepare reports on asset usage, compliance risks, and cost optimization opportunities.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve asset and configuration management processes and procedures to align with best practice and business requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to asset policies and produce compliance reporting.
  • Provide business consumption reporting for software licenses and forecast hardware replacement expenses for all business units.
  • Actively manage hardware assets to ensure they are replaced within the expected lifecycle.
  • In concert with Enterprise Architecture, ensure assets are accurately represented on the lifecycle roadmap, and that estimates are included for the replacement make and model.
  • Assist in purchasing, renewing, and negotiating software agreements in coordination with procurement and finance teams.
  • Monitor software usage to prevent over- or under-utilization of licenses, ensuring compliance with vendor agreements.
  • Manage and coordinate annual software true-up processes, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with vendor agreements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • 2-4 years of professional experience in IT asset management or a related role.
  • ITIL certification required (or within 90 days of employment).
  • Strong experience with the ServiceNow platform is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills; creates a welcoming and collaborative environment by building rapport and actively listening.
  • Highly organized and effectively coordinates resources and manages multiple tasks or projects concurrently to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Exhibits determination and a strong drive to complete tasks, even when faced with obstacles or setbacks.
  • Accurately estimates task scope and complexity, sets clear objectives, develops timelines and assignments, and proactively mitigates risks and challenges.
  • Capable of making sound decisions with limited information and under tight deadlines; demonstrates confidence and clarity in judgment.
  • Adaptable to change and thrives in dynamic environments; remains composed and effective when dealing with uncertainty or shifting priorities.


Supervisory Responsibilities: No

Work Environment:



  • Exposure to computer screens.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Required hybrid work schedule, at least 3 days/week in office.
  • Required job duties are normally performed in a climate-controlled office environment, or remotely from home.
