Civil Service Title- Bridge Repairer and Riveter Under supervision, repair and maintain the structural members of bridges including steel beams, columns, girders and handrails. Other responsibilities include using power tools, cut-out, and oxyacetylene burning equipment. The selected candidates will erect work platforms and tie all types of knots and splices to ring planks, beams, and equipment. They will prepare rough field sketches incidental to structural repairs, read blueprints of structural steel details, keep job and other records, and perform related duties. They may operate motor vehicles in the performance of assigned duties and may be required to work night or weekend shifts. Preferred Skills: Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form. Possession of a valid welding license. Requirement:. Five years of full-time satisfactory experience as a Bridge Repairer and Riveter, outside structural or ornamental ironworker, as a boilermaker, or in a related shipbuilding trade. BRIDGE REPAIRER AND RIVETER - 92310 Minimum Qualifications Qualification Requirements Five years of full-time satisfactory experience as a Bridge Repairer and Riveter, outside structural or ornamental ironworker, as a boilermaker, or in a related shipbuilding trade. License Requirements Possession of a Class B Commercial Driver License valid in the State of New York. There may be certain age requirements to obtain this license. Employees must maintain the Class B Commercial Driver License during their employment. Preferred Skills Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form.
