Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is looking for a RN Clinical Educator to work with our Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit (NSICU). This role is full-time, M-F (regular office hours, with some flexibility as needed based on department needs). Sign-on Bonus & relocation assistance eligible.

Clinical Educator Nursing Job Responsibilities:



  • Utilizes system strategies and tools to assess the competency of new nursing staff members while focusing on quality of care and patient safety goals.
  • Integrates theoretical knowledge, evidence-based principles and clinical nursing expertise into educational experiences for both new and experienced team members.
  • Prepares annual self-development plans, sets professional goals and seek opportunities for achieving them.
  • Contributes to quality and safety initiatives across the organization.


Minimum Requirements:



  • Education: Master's Degree or BSN and enrolled in Master's program upon start. If RN has a BSN and enrolled in Master's program, RN must meet with their Nurse Leader within 3 months to conduct the following:



  1. Provide a written plan with anticipated Masters completion date
  2. Submit a review of transcripts from the school indicating the required pre-requisites and timeline for taking the courses
  3. Complete Masters within 3 years of start date.



  • Experience: 2 years of progressive experience in nursing in designated specialty; 3 months of experience serving as preceptor
  • Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association; Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state RN License.
