Bringing Home the Dough Assists shipping superintendent in ensuring the safe, efficient and timely operation of the shipping department as well as in the direction and oversight of the implementation, operation, and maintenance of automated shipping systems. Supervise and coordinate activities of shipping personnel to ensure accuracy and completeness Position requires demonstration of competency for all on-the-job activities that may have a direct or indirect effect on product safety, legality and/or quality. Rising to the Challenge: Position Responsibilities * Supervise, train, oversee and direct warehouse shipping personnel. Main responsibilities will be in the warehouses but may, at times, include the plant shipping department. * Assists in the recruitment of qualified warehouse shipping personnel. * Make necessary adjustments to cover absenteeism, paid time off, and emergencies and assist workers as necessary. * Must be willing to travel, sometimes on short notice. * Carry out policies established by company officials and policy manuals. * Maintains safety programs and safe operating procedures and monitors employee compliance while maintaining a clean work area. * Ensures that shipping employees are properly instructed in the care and safe operation of equipment. * Review documents for accuracy; assist in identifying and eliminating errors. * Support the shipping superintendent with load adjustments in the warehouses in his/her area. * Develops and maintains good employee relations. * Be the contact person for warehouse shipping personnel for any dispatch, weather related, transportation equipment, or other issues. * Audit trouble Warehouses per direction of the Shipping Superintendent. * Support the shipping superintendent with tray flow back to the bakery. * Ensures compliance with all company policies and procedures (EEO, Sarbanes Oxley, Sexual Harassment, Safety, etc.) * Perform other duties as directed by supervision * Performs other duties which are deemed by management to be an integral part of the job including but not limited to fulfillment of work schedules, adherence to attendance polices, and other applicable operating rules, policies and procedures. Knead to Know: Preferred Qualifications * Two (2) or more years of supervisory and shipping related experience. Additional Ingredients: Essential Job Requirements * High School diploma or equivalency. * Completion of formal management skills training program.
